Alma Criseida Berlingeri-Ramos, MD, is board certified by the American Board of Dermatology as well as the American Board of Pathology and Dermatology and has an interest in clinical, surgical, and pathological care for patients of all ages. She is dedicated to helping patients take care of their skin and working toward visible results.
Dr. Berlingeri graduated magna cum laude from the University of Puerto Rico with a bachelor’s degree in biology. She then earned her Doctorate of Medicine at University of Puerto Rico School of Medicine, also graduating magna cum laude.
Following medical school, Dr. Berlingeri completed an internship at San Juan City Hospital, a dermatology residency at the University of Puerto Rico School of Medicine, and a fellowship in dermatopathology at the University of Texas Medical Branch in Galveston. She enjoys the challenges of dermatopathology (studying the skin at a microscopic and molecular level).
She is interested in research to improve patient care and has contributed to a number of articles published in peer-reviewed journals.
Before moving to Tyler, Dr. Berlingeri was a practicing dermatopathologist with Galveston Dermatology and clinical assistant professor in the Dermatology Department at UTMB in Galveston. She enjoys treating patients of all ages, from newborn to elderly. The study and treatment of dermatopathology and understanding of what is going on at the microscopic level has helped her become a better dermatologist.
Dr. Berlingeri and her husband are thrilled to settle in Tyler with their three young children and look forward to raising their family here. She enjoys spending time with family—here in Texas, in Florida and in her native Puerto Rico—as well as baking, traveling and studying different cultures. She takes pride in providing care to Spanish-speaking patients in their preferred language. She and her husband are dedicated to serving in their church community.
