Amanda Caldwell earned her nursing degree from Mary Grimes School of Nursing in Chanute, Kansas, and her Master of Nursing from Walden University, where she was an active member of Sigma Theta Tau.
Amanda knew at a young age that she wanted to work in healthcare and her passion for helping others led her to nursing. Amanda has practiced in family medicine and neurology; however, her interest in dermatology came about when she was diagnosed with skin cancer at the age of twenty-three. At the time, she had never been to a dermatologist and was of the mindset that dermatologists only treated acne. “Being a child of the 80’s, I damaged my skin using oils and then caused further damage using tanning beds in the 90’s”, said Amanda. “I felt, from being a patient myself, I could provide great care and awareness in this specialty”.
Educating her patients while providing compassionate and patient-centered care in all aspects of both medical and cosmetic dermatology are the key to Amanda’s success. Her clinical interests include skin screenings, skin cancer prevention and treatment, and psoriasis. Amanda is a member of the American Association of Nurse Practitioners and a member of the National Academy of Dermatology Nurse Practitioners.
Amanda is a homebody at heart and loves sketching, playing board games, and watching movies with her partner and daughter. She also enjoys their cats, even though she’s allergic, listening to live music and traveling.
