Dr. Mack Rachal graduated from the University of Texas Medical School at Houston, and the Graduate School of Biomedical Sciences with combined MD/PhD degrees in Medicine/Cancer Biology/Molecular Biology in 1989. He completed his internship at the Emory University Transitional program in internal medicine/pediatrics in 1990. He subsequently completed his residency and Fellowship in Dermatology at the Yale University School of Medicine, Department of Dermatology from 1990 -1993.
Dr. Rachal has performed over 4,500 in-patient hospital consultations since completing his residency/fellowship in July of 1993. He is a medical dermatologist with expertise in Cutaneous T-Cell Lymphomas (CTCL), Toxic Epidermal Necrolysis (TEN), Drug Reaction with Eosinophilia and Systemic Symptoms (DRESS), calciphylaxis, lupus, dermatomyositis, scleroderma, and infectious disease dermatology including HIV skin disorders, autoimmune blistering disorders, psoriasis, and eczema/atopic dermatitis.
Prior to joining U.S. Dermatology Partners, Dr. Mack was in private practice in Atlanta for over 20 years. He also served as President of The Atlanta Dermatological Association and chaired the dermatology advocacy program. In addition, he served as Chief of Dermatology at Emory University Hospital Midtown where he was actively engaged in teaching the medical house-staff and dermatology residents.
Dr. Mack is thrilled to return to Texas closer to family and friends, and looks forward to serving the Hill Country community.
